Medicinal herbs rice powder popularly known as 'Marundhu Soru Podi' is used as a flavouring agent in variety rice preparations like pulao, vegetable Biriyani.
How to Use
Mix 1–2 teaspoons of Marundhu Soru Podi while preparing coconut milk rice. Mix well and enjoy as part of your meal. Served with Fish Fry or Fish Curry.
Ingredients: Pepper, Cumin, Fennel seeds (Sombu), Dill seeds (Sadhakuppai), Turmeric, Poppy seeds (Kasa Kasa), Karuvapatta (Cinnamon/hard bark), Haleem seeds (Saaliya)

Cooking Instructions
In a large pan, add coconut oil, ghee, 1bay leaf, 2cinnamon, 2cloves, 2cardamom, 1 onion, 2 green chillis, 1tsp ginger garlic paste, saute well. Add mint, coriander leaves, 1 tomato, salt and few curry leaves. Mix 2tsp of Medicinal herbs rice powder to thick coconut milk (Prepare 800ml coconut milk for 500gms rice) without lumps. Add thick coconut milk to the pan and bring to boil. Once bubbles start appearing on the sides, add soaked rice(soaking time half an hour), mix well and allow to cook on medium flame for 10mins by covering with a lid. Once rice has absorbed all the water and cooked to 3/4th consistency, keep in low flame and cook in “dum “for 10mins. For cooking in “ dum “, place the pan on dosa tawa. Open the lid after 10 mins and give a gentle stir.
